About MMYBa
Milwaukie Mustangs Youth Basketball Association has been serving Milwaukie, Oregon area athletes since 2008. We are a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization that strives to support Milwaukie youth grades 3-8.
Our goal is to provide students with quality instruction in basketball that includes fundamentals and age-appropriate skill development with an emphasis on sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
We are affiliated with the Milwaukie Mustangs Basketball Program at Milwaukie High School and try to bridge the two programs via participation, play, and service.
Our Ethos
The Mustang Basketball Program and coaches are dedicated to creating a positive environment and culture predicated around clear expectations, healthy accountability, and trust. We believe that these are key elements to creating a winning culture but more importantly respectable individuals in society. We will always strive to do the following with passion:
(1) Communicate and set explicit expectations for those a part of the program
(2) Model and encourage players to hold themselves and their peers accountable
(3) Build and maintain a trust between the players and coaches that is demonstrated on and off the court.
We hope that these founding principles and our intense enthusiasm for the game transcend into our players daily lives and leave a persisting culture for the future generations of Mustangs.

PresidentI'm a proud Milwaukie parent, youth coach, and community builder who believes in the power of sports to help kids thrive on and off the court. I currently coach basketball and girls soccer, and I'm deeply invested in creating opportunities for kids from all backgrounds to play, grow, and belong. My vision is simple: build something that lasts. I love working closely with our high school coaches to build something that runs from youth programs all the way through MHS because I care about this community, and I want to see it thrive for years to come.
Cate Study
SecretaryI'm a proud Milwaukie parent, passionate coach, and dedicated community member who believes youth sports lay the groundwork for life's most important lessons. I started coaching after seeing too many girls sidelined while the boys played — and that moment lit a fire in me. Now coaching 7th/8th grade girls, I focus on building resilience, confidence, and teamwork through a "progress over perfection" mindset. My vision is to connect younger and older athletes through mentorship and build a strong pathway from youth to high school basketball.
