I’m a proud Milwaukie parent, youth coach, and community builder who believes in the power of sports to help kids thrive—not just on the court or field, but in life. I currently coach both basketball and girls soccer (with past experience in baseball), and I’m deeply invested in creating opportunities for kids from all backgrounds to play, grow, and belong. My vision is simple: build something in Milwaukie that lasts. I want our youth programs to be something the community is proud of—not just now, but for years to come. I believe Milwaukie has a special basketball culture, and I love working closely with the high school coaches to support their vision of community—from the youth level all the way through high school.
Outside of coaching, I’m a bit golf-obsessed and love exploring courses all over Oregon. I’m a lifelong fan of the Blazers and Oregon Ducks, and I never miss a chance to cheer on my kids—whether they’re competing, learning, or just being their awesome (and obnoxious 😂) selves. You might see me around Ardenwald Elementary, where my 3rd grade daughter goes to school (and where my wife serves on the PTO), or at Rowe Middle School supporting my 6th grader. Whether I’m coaching, cheering, or helping behind the scenes, I’m here to help grow something great—and I’d love for you to be part of it too.
I’m a proud Milwaukie parent, passionate coach, and dedicated community member who believes youth sports lay the groundwork for life’s most important lessons. I began coaching my daughter’s 3rd grade basketball team after seeing too many girls sidelined while the boys played. That moment lit a fire in me to create an equitable and empowering space where every girl could experience the joy of the game.
Now coaching 5th/6th grade girls, I focus on building resilience, confidence, and teamwork through a “progress over perfection” mindset. I believe especially in the power of youth sports to help girls grow into strong, self-assured leaders. My vision is to create a connected community of players—linking younger and older athletes through mentorship and partnering with the high school to establish a strong pathway from youth to high school basketball.
Outside the gym, I stay active in our local schools (Linwood and soon to be Rowe!) and love soaking up the outdoors—whether it’s paddle boarding, hiking around Mt. Hood, or doing endless projects around our home. I’m honored to serve as MMYBA’s Board Secretary and excited to help grow a program rooted in hometown pride, inclusion, and opportunity for all kids.
I’ve lived in Milwaukie, Oregon for over 12 years and am proud to be deeply involved in our community. My journey into youth sports began when my middle child developed a love for basketball. Through that experience, I saw firsthand the incredible dedication of the parents and coaches in our community and gained a deep appreciation for the time and care they invest in mentoring our youth.
I joined the Milwaukie Mustangs Youth Basketball Association (MMYBA) board as a parent who wanted to give back and support youth sports in a meaningful way. I truly believe that community involvement is vital, and youth sports provide kids with an opportunity to build not only their athletic skills but also their confidence, friendships, and sense of belonging as they grow into young adults.
As the Fundraising Committee Chair for MMYBA, my goal is to build a sustainable fundraising strategy that deepens community involvement and keeps youth basketball accessible and affordable for all families. With one year left in this role, I’m focused on connecting with other passionate parents who want to help strengthen and grow this program, ensuring a strong and lasting future for the children in our community.
I have children at Linwood Elementary, Rowe Middle School, and soon Milwaukie Academy of the Arts (MAA). Beyond MMYBA, I’ve served on several local boards, including the Ledding Library Board and the Ledding Library of Milwaukie Foundation Board. I’m also an active volunteer with the Linwood Neighborhood District Association (NDA) and PTA.
When I’m not working, volunteering, or taking kids to and from activities, I love gardening, reading, knitting, cooking, hiking, learning about a wide range of subjects, and chilling with my happy golden retriever Sunny. As a very extroverted person, I LOVE spending time with my friends, family, and neighbors here in Milwaukie.
